Fine Wine and a Lit Time

Outside of Huber’s Farm

If you’re impartial to wine this blog will still peak your interest. Our experience at Huber’s Farm was so much more than a winery and yours can be too. Located on 65 acres in Starlight, Indiana, sits Huber’s Farm, a free family friendly farm where you can pick fresh fruit and participate in many different activities. Huber’s has been around since 1843 and has kept it in the family ever since.

Huber’s has an ice cream parlor, restaurants, kids park, live music, a distillery and more! The distillery offers $12 spirit flights. We stopped by the ice cream factory for some strawberry and cookies & cream scoops. The ice cream uses fresh fruit as it’s main ingredient and you can taste real strawberries in every spoonful. The cookies in the cookies and cream tasted fresh, not stale and meshed with the ice cream well. Patrons are able to purchase a $3 tractor ride to the pasture and pick fresh fruits and vegetables. Of course we got some fresh fruit. Can you tell we love peaches? They even have a fresh fruit market in case you don’t feel like doing your own picking.

Now that you know what the entire farm has to offer let’s get into what Huber’s is known for, the winery, which was established 33 years ago. We purchased the wine tour for $80 which included a tour, tasting consisting of seven flights each, souvenir glass, two free appetizers or sandwiches. We opted for the sandwiches which were huge double cheeseburgers. You can tell this thing was massive and it was cooked thoroughly. A cheeseburger this size is needed when partaking in wine and spirits. Speaking of spirits, we enjoyed some drinks as well. We had the bourbon spritz and frozen mango daiquiri. Both were suberb and had a nice amount of liquor but wasn’t overly strong to the taste.

Huber’s was an all around good time. I recommend coming here for a date night, birthday celebration or just wanting to get lit. There’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy and plenty of wine to go around. Huber’s wouldn’t be a winery without a wine club right? Whether you live in the Starlight area or not, you can enjoy the bodied wines in the comfort of your own home. What you can’t enjoy at home is the experience Huber’s gives as soon as you step onto the farm. Expect to get super lit and have a relaxing time among the fruit trees and grapevines.
