If you’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting Miami you know everything about the city is flashy. From the clubs, to the cars, nothing is low grade. I would expect nothing less from their restaurants and Koi Sushi Lounge lived up to those standards.
The ambiance of this place is enticing inside and out. They have a cute little waterfall and a ninja to greet you. The decor is appealing throughout the restaurant. The bar has a colorful aspect and is full. Of course social distancing is enforced.
Okay let’s get into the food. You already know the closer you are to water, the fresher the seafood will be. I wasn’t about to miss out on any of it.
First things first – the bang bang shrimp. Chances are you’ve experienced this appetizer before, but you haven’t had Koi’s. This crispy fried shrimp was seasoned with the right spices and the spicy mayo had just the right amount of kick.

Next on the menu – a spicy tuna roll. A simple yet delicious roll made of rice, seaweed and spicy tuna. I could tell from the first bite this tuna was immensely fresh which is important and meant they really care about their customers health.

The last thing to graze my tastebuds – golden scallops. This roll was truly amazing. Comprised of tiger shrimp, avocado and mango, wrapped in soy paper and topped with dynamite scallops, masago and eel sauce. Of course everything about the Golden Scallops roll was fresh. Definitely rating this roll a 10 out of 10.

My beverage of choice this go round was a mango mojito. A classic with a more fruity filled twist. The mint was fresh as well. Koi is just overall fresh.

Koi’s Sushi Lounge did not fail my expectations in the slightest, in fact they exceeded them. I’ve got to plenty of sushi spots before but this one is really close to topping it. If you want a more than pleasant sushi dining experience, Koi is your place. This won’t be my last visit and you should definitely put it on your list when you’re in the Miami area.
