We all know what happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas but I couldn’t keep this experience to myself. After visiting the Trece restaurant inside of Planet 13’s Entertainment Complex there was no way I wasn’t going to share the details. Las Vegas changed their slogan last year to “What happens here only happens here.” and they just might be right.
Trece is a beautifully sun lit eatery with American and Mexican menu options. They also have a cocktail menu worth ordering from. The decor is simple with hanging plants in the sun room and it looks very clean and well put together.
Being that Trece is located in the biggest dispensary in the world the food should be top notch right? Exactly. So let’s get into it..
First up was the firecracker shrimp. Consisting of surimi salad wrapped in wonton paper, fried with a sweet garlic chili sauce on the side. These were fried perfectly and the sauce complimented the shrimp very well.
Next was the flaming chili con queso. This came in a sizzling hot cast iron skillet with Monterey Jack cheese, pico, roasted poblano and tortilla chips. I recommend this even if you suffer from lactose intolerance, it’s that good! This is a nice snack if you have the munchies as well.
Now for the main course, the grilled lamb chops. These chops were bursting with flavor. Consisting of roasted corn potato puree, sautéed veggies and chimichurri sauce. Everything went together excellently and tasted superb. They definitely know how to grill a lamb chop!
I can’t have all this good food with no drinks so I ordered a cocktail named Lei On Me. This drink is crafted with lychee nectar, Tito’s vodka and coconut lychee liquor. Very tasty and the lychee plays its role well in this drink. They have a plethora of cocktails as well as a full bar for any of your wine or spirit needs.
Trece did not come to play when it comes to their American and Mexican cuisine. This is a place you’ll want to tell everyone about. The menu is vast so you might get frustrated because everything seems so good you won’t be able to choose quickly. It’s a nice pit stop to make while waiting on your order at the dispensary as well. The smells coming from Trece will make you want to dine in immediately. I’m aware that there are countless places to eat and drink at in Las Vegas but Trece is just one of those places your pallet needs and you won’t know until you go.
