Italian Cuisine is undoubtedly the food of romance; boiled, seasoned and covered in flavorful seduction. Italian food has won over the hearts and stomachs of many with made from scratch Lasagna and cheddar filled Tortellini, it has become the staple of the romantic dinner date which was immortalized half a century ago by the famous kiss in the animated classic, The Lady and the Tramp. I myself indulged in the fairytale and was drawn to ponder if authentic Italian cuisine really could bring the tale of love to life. There was only one way to find out—so, I visited Silvios, an Italian restaurant that turned out to have its own unforgettably sexy story.

Silvios Restaurant located in Louisville, Kentucky has been open since 2015. Every guest has been met with a warm welcome by the owner himself, Bill Silvio. Bill’s goal for this beauty of a restaurant is to make every guest feel like part of his own family. As Bill said it, “There is a lot of love and work that goes into this.” I would like to personally add that yes, based on my wonderful time there, there is more love going on in that restaurant than cupid’s arrow on Valentine’s Day. Every table in the place is topped with a lowly lit ambience to set that romantic tone similar to that of the movie itself. My words alone couldn’t describe how phenomenal the experience was so I had to provide a sensual visual with the pictures below. I will warn you though, that if you are looking for a casual date night at an affordable price you may be leaving with more than a full stomach and a happy date.

Silvios serves Louisville’s best and most delicious Italian American cuisine. Think olive oil, parmesan cheese, garlic, Roma tomatoes, angel hair pasta and all your heart’s desire on a silver platter. It should go without saying that the food was excellent, the service was impeccable. The waiter even gave me a hug! It doesn’t get any more personal than that. I started out with the Calamari which was breaded and fried with sweet peppers and served with marinara to give it a slight twist. I highly recommend it as, the ratio of meat to breading is perfect. Following the appetizer I selected the Pasta with Seafood which included angel hair tossed with shrimp, mussels and scallops in a white wine cream sauce. Wanting the taste of heaven to be more than short lived, I ordered the Raviolo stuffed with 5 cheeses, served topped in endless marinara with a big fat meatball on top!

The atmosphere almost drew out my inner most Hedonistic thoughts as I dined in ecstasy with a beautiful lady next to me, but, the food captured my heart and became my one true love in the end. I was lucky, however, to get a kiss from my date who had fell in love with the restaurant herself. Now you know, the way to someone’s heart may just be through a bowl of pasta! If you are bold enough, you will grab your lady and try Silvios for yourself… just make sure you and your date save room for dessert xoxoxo.

Before eating a meal, most Italians say to each other: “Buon appetite!” This translates to enjoy your meal, and at Silvio’s I guarantee you will enjoy the meal and much more.
