True ice wine is one of the hardest, most misery-stricken wines to produce. A natural secret, the wine is produced by harvesting grapes frozen on the vine at 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C). Only grapes that grow well in cold climates can be made into ice wines, so aside from the 3-6 month fermentation process they can be quite a rarity, but good things only come to those who wait. Just imagine those pioneers that stood outside in sub-zero temperatures, in the dark, trying to harvest grapes. Crazy right… only a hedonist would understand the struggle of searching for this type of pleasure.

Categorized as a dessert wine with orgasmic fruit flavor and a rich smell, it makes for a great pairing with a late night snack, or a woman, or both. The market for ice wines is small, so it may be on pricey side compared to most wines that are not aged long, but the experience of putting these down on a Canadian vineyard while overlooking a reflection pool is unforgettable. It may even spark a flashback to the last time you had a sweet adulterated experience.

Trius winery is a Canadian winemaking pioneer that has crafted fine wines from premium grapes for over 40 years! I would tell you more but this is a hidden treasure that locals try to keep to themselves. I wont spoil all the fun, but if you want a true taste of natures best juices, Trius may be the place to start endulging like a true Hedonist.
