Southwest airlines recently launched flights to Hawaii at a discounted rate of 15 percent. As soon as I heard the news, I grabbed a few friends and headed to the main island with hopes of experiencing authentic dishes and serene sunsets.

As soon as we arrived on the island of Oahu, I was blown away by the lush vegetation and crystal clear waters. We quickly absorbed some of the fresh sunshine, grabbed an uber and headed to downtown to check out the main attractions.

One of my favorite sites was the Sea Life Park Aquarium. While visiting we were able participate in a traditional Hawaiian luau. In case you haven’t heard, a
luau is like a big Hawaiian party where everyone gets together to celebrate the love they have for each other through food and music. Here’s a pro tip… if you pay for the $60 luau, you get to visit the aquarium for free.

The next day, we visited the Hilton Garden Inn located on some beachside property near Waikiki beach. We dined like true kings and queens and basked beneath rays of Hawaiian sun while enjoying some first class treatment.

The plate you see above is full of traditional Hawaiian treats from the Hilton Garden Inn. Our meal came complete with fried fish, grilled chicken, corn and salad. We also took a short cruise where I was able to order an island favorite, the Mai Tai. A Mai Tai is cocktail made with rum, Curaçao liqueur, orgeat syrup, and lime juice. It’s often associated south pacific and Polynesian cultures.

World’s greatest Mai Tai.
Besides the food, we enjoyed a variety of water sport activities. We were able to ride jet skis and waverunners. I left my phone on the beach at that time because I didn’t want it to get wet! Since most people have access water sport activities, they’re very affordable.
Shoutout to Southwest Airlines for recently creating flights to Hawaii and decreasing prices by 15 percent. I plan to visit soon and hope to bring more friends so they experience the peace and pleasure island life offers.
