Bringing Home the Bacon

Bacon. It’s the blowjob that wakes you up on Sunday mornings. It’s the familiar friend you long to see at the breakfast table right next to your coffee with sugar and cream. It’s the best part of everyone’s breakfast and it’s one thing this southern man cannot live without.

In honor of my favorite breakfast food, we visited Bacon Social House, a Sunnyside gem nestled in the northern suburbs of Denver. From applewood smoked to barbecue, we devoured different kinds of juicy bites and salty treats.

The first thing we ordered was “The Flight”. An interesting dish that allowed us to munch on different bacon flavors Bacon Social House has to offer. We enjoyed applewood, candied and barbecue, but the restaurant also has habanero and paleo.

Next, we dug into the Southern Comfort. Besides a fried chicken breast, the sandwich came with more applewood smoked bacon, pickles drenched in garlic, a tangy coleslaw and a bun made with potato flour. The best part of this dish was the way the spicy pickles paired with sweetness of the applewood smoke bacon.

The last part of our three course bacon feast was the Whole Hog Omelet. Never before in my life have I seen more pork mixed onto one plate than I did at Bacon Social House. The Whole Hog came with a pile of pulled pork, applewood smoked bacon, delicious bites of diced ham and a mountain of cheddar cheese. In the picture you see below, it’s topped with their house chili and served alongside an English muffin.

If you are a bacon lover like me, stop by Bacon Social House. Located in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Denver, this restaurant will fill up with fresh bacon and have you begging for more by the time you leave.
