A New York Guilty Pleasure…. Yes Daddy!

Affectionately known as the city that never sleeps, New York is a smorgasbord of international delights. Last weekend we visited one of my favorites, known as Clawdaddy’s, a Brooklyn hot spot that serves up some of the best Cajun and Creole on the east coast.

We enjoyed a few rounds of the Mardi Gras and the My Dawlin’.

It’s always nice to be reminded of the simple pleasures associated with childhood. Those same simple pleasures are even better served alongside alcohol! That’s why the adult Capri Suns are an absolute must upon visiting this casual and comfortable dining establishment.

Clawdaddy’s makes it easy to order online but I don’t think these cocktails are available to-go!

With a variety of flavors to choose from, it’s clear these southern-inspired treats can add a child-like twist to any night in the big city. The casual atmosphere of the restaurant and the the fresh drink ingredients reminded us of our experience in New Orleans. It seems that Clawdaddy’s has used everything the south represents and immortalized it inside a red brick building located in the lower east side of Brooklyn.

A perfect representation of the Claw Feast!

There was so much to choose from on the menu, but we got the Claw Feast. In true hedonist fashion, we knew that the portion would be big and the price would be right. For the Claw Feast, a pound of shrimp, snow crab legs, craw fish and clams came all mixed together with corn, red potatoes and Cajun spices. Served family style with a medium spice level, we couldn’t have asked for more in terms of southern style cooking that’s taken to the next level.

Whether I’m in the deep south or Brooklyn, New York, I’m always inspired by the love restaurants around the nation have for Cajun cooking and fresh seafood. We’re looking forward to a return visit to Clawdaddy’s and hope you can find time to check it out too.
